The app I use to post on my blog has a feature that offers prompts meant to inspire posts. Today’s was:

What sacrifices have you made in life?

Good question.

I think when you are married with a family, making sacrifices is pretty much required.

You sacrifice your time.

You sacrifice your money.

You sacrifice your desires.

You sacrifice your expectations.

You sacrifice your ambitions.

But in sacrificing you also gain.

You gain perspective.

You gain joy.

You gain love.

You gain purpose.

You gain humility.

You gain meaning.

Making sacrifices doesn’t mean having nothing you want or need. It does mean, however, gaining some things that you realize are better than what you had to sacrifice.
