Joshua told the people, ‘Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you.’
Joshua 3:5
“God likes to prepare His people for, and include His people in, the amazing things that He does. One of the ways in which He does that is through consecration. What the Lord will do with me tomorrow is largely dependent on how I respond to Him today.”
“Father God, I pray for the Church across my region. Give us a deeper revelation of what it means to be separate and set apart for You. Help us not to conform to the patterns of this world, but rather, through Your word, let there be transformation in our hearts and minds (Romans 12:2).”
The above words from today’s Lectio 365 devotional make me think about the church(es) in my area. What might God desire to do in our midst? How is he already at work even if we can’t quite see it? And how must we prepare ourselves in order to participate in what he’s doing and what he’s going to do?
How the church lives today prepares us for what God will do in and through the church tomorrow.
What are we open to seeing God do? Are we willing to prepare ourselves for amazing things?
