This is my sermon from this past Sunday. It reflects recent events surrounding the Truckers’ Freedom Convoy in Ottawa, Canada, our government’s response, and the ongoing political situation in our country. Rather than present my opinion on the matter directly, I instead try to provide some perspective for Christians. That doesn’t mean I do not have a strong opinion on the situation. I most certainly do. To say that I find myself profoundly disappointed in and disillusioned with our federal government is a vast understatement. But in my sermon I simply wanted to take a step back and present something of a framework within which to reflect on political engagement. I confess that I am not completely satisified with the sermon. There is so much more to faith and politics than what I have said here. That said, I hope that it is helpful to some who listen.
